Registrant Terms

These terms apply when you use a form on Plantains (plantains.app) to register yourself or someone else for an event, sign a waiver, pay, or manage a registration. Plantains is operated by Bike Monkey, Inc. ("we", "us"). By submitting a form, you agree to these terms.
The organizer runs the event, not Plantains
Each form is created and run by an event organizer, named on the form. The organizer, not Plantains, is responsible for the event and everything about it: its safety, changes and cancellation, prices, eligibility, refunds, transfers, and the waivers and policies you agree to. Your agreement for the event is with the organizer. Questions about an event, a refund or a change go to the organizer.
Plantains only provides the software the organizer uses. We don't organize, run, supervise or insure any event, and we aren't responsible for anything that happens at one.
Payments and fees
Payments go to the organizer through Stripe, a payment processor, under Stripe's terms and privacy policy. Your card statement shows the organizer's name. If a form shows a Service fee, that's Plantains' fee, which the organizer has chosen to pass on to you; it's included in the total you see before paying. Refunds follow the organizer's refund policy and are decided by the organizer. Whether any service fee is refunded is also up to the organizer.
Waivers and electronic signatures
Some forms ask you to sign a waiver or other agreement. You agree that typing your name, drawing your signature or checking a box to sign is your legally binding electronic signature, just like signing on paper, and that you can receive and sign these agreements electronically. If you sign for a minor, you confirm that you're their parent or legal guardian. The waiver is between you and the organizer; ask them for a copy or with questions. We keep a record of each signature for the organizer.
Your responsibilities
- Give accurate information, and only register people you're authorized to register.
- Don't submit someone else's payment card without permission, or misuse forms, codes or registration links.
- Keep the links and sign-in codes we email you private: anyone with them can see and change your registration.
Your information
The organizer receives everything you submit on their form and uses it under their own policies. Plantains stores and processes it for the organizer, as explained in our Privacy Policy. We don't sell your personal information. To see, correct or delete your information, contact the organizer; you can also email legal@plantains.app.
Disclaimers and limits
Plantains is provided "as is." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we aren't liable for any indirect or consequential damages, or for any injury, loss or damage connected with an event, and our total liability to you for anything relating to Plantains is limited to $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute with us about Plantains (not about an event, which is between you and the organizer) will be resolved by binding individual arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Arbitration Rules, except that either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court. You and we each waive the right to a jury trial and to bring or join a class action. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing legal@plantains.app within 30 days of first submitting a form.
